  •     Marilyn Bednarski 
    Marilyn is a former federal public defender in Los Angeles.  She is on the board of directors of WTAI, and also lectures at the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia.  She is in private practice in Pasadena, California.
  •     George Blau   
    George is a lawyer and teaches psychology and law for the last thirty years at the University of Wyoming as a professor of psychology and an adjunct professor of criminal justice.
  •     Russ Born
    Russ is the former director of training for the Maricopa County public defender’s office in Phoenix, Arizona, and is a perennial favorite at WTAI.
  •     Dale Cobb
    Dale Cobb practices exclusively in state and federal criminal courts throughout the southeast. He is a co-founder of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Chairman of the South Carolina Criminal Law Section, Chairman of the Board of the Wyoming Trial Institute, and has been a faculty member for the National Criminal Defense College since 1979. Cobb helped pioneer the “Battered Spouse Syndrome” defense in the late 1970’s, and has lectured in 45 states, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Canada. His publications include: Criminal Procedure in South Carolina, Battered Spouse Defenses, and Acting for Lawyers (Welcome to the Theatre of the Absurd).
  •     Jodie English
    Jodie is in private practice in Richmond, Indiana.  She specializes in criminal defense and death penalty litigation, and lectures widely throughout the country.  She is on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College.
  •    Carey Haughwout
    Carey is the Director of the Public Defender’s Office in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Carey lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College, where she has been on the faculty since 1992.
  •    Shawna Geiger
    Shawna practices in Greenwood Village, Colorado.  A former public defender, Shawna is developing a reputation as one of the best criminal trial lawyers in the Rocky Mountain region. She is an assistant director of Colorado's alternative defense counsel.
  •    Stephanie Hewitt  
    Stephanie practices in Fort Collins, Colorado, is a member of Colorado's alternative defense cousnel and office shares with Linda Miller.  A former participant at WTAI, Stephanie is returning with a view towards joining the faculty and sharing her experiences and expertise with new members.
  •     Garvin Isaacs
    Garvin is in private practice in Oklahoma City, and is a nationally renowned criminal defense attorney, having handled numerous high profile cases in New Mexico and Oklahoma.  Garvin is a founding member of the board of WTAI and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College.  Garvin also taught at the Trial Lawyer’s College in Dubois, Wyoming.
  •     Hon. Joe Johnson
     A former state public defender, the Hon.  Joseph Johnson is now a judge and previously his private practice focused on state and federal felony defense work, domestic relations, and a limited amount of plaintiff personal injury litigation. He is a life member of both NACDL and the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a faculty member of the National Criminal Defense College. In 1979, while representing Linda Brown on behalf of her children, Johnson filed a Motion to Intervene in the original Brown v. Topeka Board of Education case. Ultimately, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed that the Topeka School Board had not “moved with all deliberate speed” to eradicate the vestiges of the separate but equal policy that had been in place prior to the 1954 Brown decision. That victory brought sweeping changes to the Topeka Public School landscape.
  •     Josh Karton
    Josh Karton is an actor, writer, and director, and specializes in communication arts for the professional.  Josh  is a perennial faculty member of WTAI and also lectures widely throughout the country, including the Trial Lawyer’s College in Dubois, Wyoming.  He also is instrumental in training officers in the JAG Corps.  He lives in Santa Monica, California.
  •     Mary Kennedy
    Mary is the former director of training for the Federal Defender program in Washington, D.C., and is presently in private practice in that same capacity for a large Washington, D.C. law firm.
  •     A. J. Kramer
    A. J. Kramer is the Federal Public Defender for Washington, D.C.  He  is a perennial faculty member of WTAI and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College.
  •     Albert Krieger
    Albert is a nationally recognized criminal defense attorney, having represented such notable individuals as John Gotti and Joseph Bonano, and the Native Americans on trial at Wounded Knee.  Albert  is a perennial faculty member and board member of WTAI and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College.  He lives in Miami, Florida.
  •     Dallas Laird
    Dallas practices in Casper, Wyoming, and specializes in personal injury and criminal defense.  Dallas  is on the board of WTAI and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the Trial Lawyer’s College in Dubois, Wyoming.
  •     Terry MacCarthy
    For over 37 years Terry has been the Federal Defender in Chicago, an office with an outstanding record of dedication and achievement.   He was named one of the top four CLE speakers in the country in 1995.   He has served on the faculty of National Criminal Defense College every summer since its inception in the early 1970s. He is also a member of the faculty of the Western Trial Advocacy Institute, the Northwestern Short Course, the University of Virginia Trial Advocacy Institute, and has taught at Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer’s College.   A member of the ABA for over thirty years, MacCarthy has chaired the Criminal Justice Section and served on its Council for seventeen years, seven years as a Section representative in the House of Delegates. He also served on the ABA Board of Governors. He has served on the Boards of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association. He has published over twenty legal articles and written chapters in several books.
  •     Terry Mackey
    Terry practices in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is  is a perennial faculty member of WTAI. He enjoys a reputation as one of the top trial lawyers in Wyoming.  He was also involved in the nationally recognized Jahnke case.
  •     Linda Miller
    Linda practices in Fort Collins, Colorado, and is a perennial faculty member of WTAI.  A former participant at WTAI, Linda is one of the preeminent defense lawyers in Colorado, is a former board member of NACDL, and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College
  •     Bert Nieslanik
    Bert practices in Grand Junction, Colorado, and  is a perennial faculty member of WTAI. Bert is an expert in demonstrative evidence, and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College.
  •     Steve Rench
    Steve is the former public defender for the State of Colorado, and  is a founding board member of WTAI.  Steve also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College and the Trial Lawyer’s College.  He is the author of the Rench Book, a trial guide for criminal defense attorneys
  •      Robert R. Rose, III  
    Bob Rose practices in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  A former state public defender and state prosecutor, he is the Director of WTAI, a Circuit Court Magistrate, and also teaches criminal law at Laramie County Community College
  •     Gerry Spence
    Gerry is considered by many to be the greatest trial lawyer in the United States.  He has represented numerous clients in high profile cases, such as the Pring case against Penthouse Magazine, and the defense of Randy Weaver and Imelda Marcos.  Gerry is a founding board member of WTAI and also lectures widely throughout the country on criminal defense, including the National Criminal Defense College.  He is also the founder and director of the Trial Lawyer’s College.  Gerry lives in Jackson, Wyoming.
  •     Richard Tegtmeier
    Dick Tegtmeier practices in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the Rocky Mountain region.
  •     John Tierney
    John is a former state prosecutor in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  An expert in trial communication, John  is a founding board member of WTAI and has also lectured widely throughout the country on criminal issues.
  •     Craig Truman
    Craig is in private practice in Denver.  He is a former Colorado State Public Defender, and one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the Rocky Mountain region.
